How to play

  1. Set up. Place furniture on the 1-metre grid, or switch to fine placement. Rotate or delete pieces as you go. Put the aquarium and waiting chairs where guests will wait, then use privacy walls and waypoints to shape the kitchen loop.
  2. Start service. Your furniture is locked in.
  3. Seat guests. Click a waiting party, then a glowing table that fits them.
  4. Watch the carts. Guests eat dim sum from carts that pass nearby, then pay and leave. A cart leaves every five seconds; press Send Bonus Cart for more sales.
  5. Finish the shift. Service lasts one minute. When time is up, win by surviving until every cart is back. You lose if more than 100 dim sum go uneaten.

Dim Sum Defender is an early prototype that we’re building in the open. It runs in a desktop browser with WebGL, and works best with a mouse.

Features

Build your dining room

Place tables, booths, privacy walls and a waiting area on a snap-to grid, then shape the route your carts take with numbered waypoints.

Seat every party

Pick a waiting party and send it to a table that fits. Guests walk in, eat what passes, pay at the register and leave.

Keep the carts moving

A cart leaves the kitchen every five seconds, and you can send bonus carts. Anything still aboard when a cart returns counts as uneaten.
